Það er skelfilegt að láta þetta lið sleppa í ruslveiturnar eins menn hafa séð enda trúverðugleiki þess alls enginn og það verið á eilífum flótta úr einni dellunni í þá næstu síðustu misserin og verða án efa áfram. Miklar líkur á einhvers konar terrorhollywoodsjói næsta mánuðinn

Mér skilst að eitthvað mjög stórt geti skollið á í kringum 7. okt. og jafnvel verði borinn fram forréttur að því um 27. þessa mánaðar. Þetta stóra á víst að vera einhvers konar terrorleiksýning eða hernaðarbrölt, ekki nákvæmlega ljóst hvers eðlis það á að vera.

Alþjóðlegt bankakerfi er algjörlega fallít og hefur verið að veslast smám saman upp síðustu 1-2 áratugina og síðasta árið hafa hræringar tengdar dauðastríði þess orðið sífellt brjálæðislegri eins og menn hafa séð. Þetta er orðin algjör örvænting í æðstu stöðum og mikið sem liggur við að draga athygli almennings frá þessum fjárhagslega ruglanda sem flestir sjá að hefur verið sviðsettur. Hinir ábyrgu, stjórnmálamenn og eigendur þeirra og kostendur í fjármálaheiminum, munu að sjálfsögðu reyna allt til að sleppa við að lenda á bak við lás og slá ásamt fylgifiskum sínum.

International Poll: No Consensus On Who Was Behind 9/11

A new WorldPublicOpinion.org poll of 17 nations finds that majorities in only nine of them believe that al Qaeda was behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.

In no country does a majority agree on another possible perpetrator, but in most countries significant minorities cite the US government itself and, in a few countries, Israel. These responses were given spontaneously to an open-ended question that did not offer response options.

On average, 46 percent say that al Qaeda was behind the attacks while 15 percent say the US government, seven percent Israel, and seven percent some other perpetrator. One in four say they do not know.

Given the extraordinary impact the 9/11 attacks have had on world affairs, it is remarkable that seven years later there is no international consensus about who was behind them," comments Steven Kull, director of WorldPublicOpinion.org.

Even in European countries, the majorities that say al Qaeda was behind 9/11 are not overwhelming. Fifty-seven percent of Britons, 56 percent of Italians, 63 percent of French and 64 percent of Germans cite al Qaeda." However, significant portions of Britons (26%), French (23%), and Italians (21%) say they do not know who was behind 9/11. Remarkably, 23 percent of Germans cite the US government, as do 15 percent of Italians.

Publics in the Middle East are especially likely to name a perpetrator other than al Qaeda. In Egypt 43 percent say that Israel was behind the attacks, as do 31 percent in Jordan and 19 percent in the Palestinian Territories. The US government is named by 36 percent of Turks and 27 percent of Palestinians. The numbers who say al Qaeda was behind the attacks range from 11 percent in Jordan to 42 percent in the Palestinian Territories.

The only countries with overwhelming majorities citing al Qaeda are the African countries: Kenya (77%) and Nigeria (71%). In Nigeria, a large majority of Muslims (64%) also say that al Qaeda was behind the attacks (compared to 79% of Nigerian Christians).

The poll of 16,063 respondents was conducted between July 15 and August 31, 2008 by WorldPublicOpinion.org, a collaborative research project involving research centers from around the world and managed by the Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA) at the University of Maryland. Margins of error range from +/-3 to 4 percent.

Interviews were conducted in 17 nations, including most of the largest nations--China, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Russia--as well as Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, the Palestinian Territories, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, and the Ukraine.

Respondents were asked "Who do you think was behind the 9/11 attacks?" and their answers were categorized into four response groups: "Al Qaeda," "the US government," Israel," or "Other." Any answers that approximated al Qaeda, such as "bin Laden" or "Islamic extremists," were categorized along with those who said al Qaeda. Those who simply characterized the perpetrators as "Arabs," "Saudis," or "Egyptians" (3% on average) were included in the "Other" category.

Respondents in Asia have mixed responses. Bare majorities in Taiwan (53%) and South Korea (51%) name al Qaeda, but 17 percent of South Koreans point to the US government and large numbers in both countries say they do not know (Taiwan 34%, South Korea 22%).

Majorities of Chinese (56%) and Indonesians (57%) say they do not know, with significant minorities citing the US government (Indonesia 14%, China 9%).

A clear majority of Russians (57%) and a plurality of Ukrainians (42%) say al Qaeda was behind the attacks. But significant minorities identify the US government (15% in both cases) and large numbers do not provide an answer (Ukrainians 39%, Russians 19%).

Out of all countries polled, Mexico has the second-largest number citing the US government as the perpetrator of 9/11 (30%, after Turkey at 36%). Only 33 percent name al Qaeda.

Though people with greater education generally have greater exposure to news, those with greater education are only slightly more likely to attribute 9/11 to al Qaeda. Steven Kull comments, "It does not appear that these beliefs can simply be attributed to a lack of exposure to information."

A stronger correlate of beliefs about 9/11 are respondents' attitudes about the United States. Those with a positive view of America's influence in the world are more likely to cite al Qaeda (on average 59%) than those with a negative view (40%). Those with a positive view of the United States are also less likely to blame the US government (7%) than those with a negative view (22%).

Gold, Silver in violent short-squeeze run as SEC outright bans naked short-selling

"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 2008-205 Washington, D.C., Sept. 17, 2008 — The Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of the Chief Accountant today clarified that bank support of money market mutual funds generally does not result in a requirement to present the fund on-balance sheet.

As a result of recent market events, some money market funds have become exposed to declines in the credit worthiness of certain troubled assets. To protect investor’s principal investment in these funds, some sponsoring financial institutions have appropriately stepped in to provide various types of financial support.

The Office of the Chief Accountant has received questions related to whether the actions by these sponsoring financial institutions may result in on-balance sheet accounting for supported money market funds. The Office of the Chief Accountant believes that on-balance sheet accounting for supported money market funds is not required if the sponsoring financial institution does not absorb the majority of the expected future risk associated with the money market fund’s assets, including interest rate, liquidity, credit and other relevant risks that are expected to impact the fair value of the money market fund assets. However, the staff would expect adequate disclosure of the nature of the support provided.

In an unusual situation where the nature of the support results in exposing the sponsoring financial institution to a majority of the expected future risk, the Office of the Chief Accountant would encourage consultation on issues associated with presenting money market mutual funds in the financial statements, including consideration of acceptable presentation and disclosure models. "

The Unspeakable Truth of 9/11

The following is a compilation from mainstream media reports and other investigative research available on the web. (see also Paul Thompson, The Terror Timeline, 2004) Most of it never again repeated, clues, ‘dots’ never connected:

- The World Trade Center needed repair since the late 1980s, some $200 million in renovations and improvements, mostly related to removal and/or replacement of building materials declared health hazards since the Towers were built. The WTC was labeled an “asbestos bombshell”. In fact, the Port Authority thought of the WTC as a dinosaur, trying several times to get permits to demolish the buildings for liability reasons. The PA was turned down. The asbestos problem was no secret. The sole reason the complex was still up on 9/11/2001 was the cost of taking the Twin Towers down floor by floor. - Larry Silverstein, a New York property tycoon purchased a 99-year lease for the entire WTC complex just 6 months prior to the 9/11 attacks. That was the first time in its 33-year history the complex had ever changed ownership. Mr. Silverstein, who must have known about the asbestos problem, made a down-payment of $124 million on this $3.2 billion complex, and promptly insured it for $3.6 billion. He also covered the complex against “terrorist attacks”. In the contract Mr. Silverstein was also specifically given the right to rebuild the structures if they were destroyed. Mr. Silverstein’s first order of business as the new owner was to change the company responsible for the security of the complex. The new security company he hired was Securacom (now Stratasec). George W. Bush’s brother, Marvin Bush, was on its board of directors, and Marvin’s cousin, Wirt Walker III, was its CEO. According to public records, not only did Securacom provide electronic security for the World Trade Center, it also covered Dulles International Airport and United Airlines - two key players in the 9/11 attacks. Following the attacks, Mr. Silverstein filed two insurance claims for the maximum amount of the policy ($7.2B), based on the two — in Mr. Silverstein’s view — separate attacks. The insurance company, Swiss Re, paid Mr. Silverstein $4.6 Billion, still a princely return on a relatively paltry investment of $124 million. Incidentally, it’s worth noting that one of Mr. Silverstein’s closest friends, a person with whom it’s said he speaks almost daily by phone, is none other than former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. - Back in October 2000, about 11 months prior to September 11, 2001, a former Israeli Defense Force member and veteran of the 1973 Yom Kippur War overheard a conversation in Hebrew in New Jersey, “The Americans will learn what it is to live with terrorists after the planes hit the twins in September… The Arabs are so stupid. - On 9/11 at least two Israel-based employees of the instant messaging service Odigo received warnings of an imminent attack in New York City more than two hours before the first plane hit the buildings. Odigo had its U.S. headquarters two blocks from the WTC. The Odigo employees, however, did not pass the warning on to the authorities in New York City. (Washington Post, 9/27/01) Odigo, like many Israeli software companies, is based and has its Research and Development center in Herzliya, the small town north of Tel Aviv, which happens to be where the headquarters of Mossad, Israel’s intelligence service are located.

- Also on 9/11/2001 five “Middle Eastern men” were arrested in New Jersey by the FBI after having been seen on a roof top videotaping and celebrating the explosive collapses of the WTC. “It looked like they knew what was going to happen.” (Bergen Record, 9/12/01) It was later confirmed that the five detained men were in fact agents of the Israeli military intelligence, Mossad. Their “moving van” from a Weehawken, N.J. company called Urban Moving Systems tested positive for explosives. Another employee of Urban Moving Systems, reported that the majority of his co-workers were Israelis and were joking on the day of the attacks. The employee said, ‘I was in tears, and these guys were joking, and that bothered me.’ These guys (Israelis) were like, “Now America knows what we go through.” (www.whatreallyhappened.com/sears.html)

Dominic Suter, the Israeli owner of Urban Moving Systems, fled in haste after 9/11/2001, or was allowed to escape, to Israel before FBI agents could interrogate him. (Forward, 3/15/02)

The arrested five Israelis were released after spending just 71 days in U.S. custody. The Assistant Attorney General in charge of criminal investigations at the time was Michael Chertoff, the current head of the Dept. of Homeland Security. Chertoff, the son of Israel’s first Mossad agents, facilitated the 9-11 cover-up, is thought to be a dual national. (www.whatreallyhappened.com/sears.html)

He was also told by an unnamed US official “Evidence linking these Israelis to 9/11 is classified. I cannot tell you about evidence that has been gathered. It’s classified information.”

- Senator Bob Graham (D-FL) was quoted saying: “I think there is very compelling evidence that at least some of the terrorists were assisted not just in financing - although that was part of it - by a sovereign government… It will become public at some point when it’s turned over to the archives, but that’s 20 or 30 years from now.”

- Investigators within the DEA, INS and FBI have all told Fox News that to ‘pursue or even suggest Israeli spying… is considered career suicide’… (Fox News, 12/12/01)

- Another FBI official said to Cameron: “While I agree with you, if I say anything about US geopolitical interests with Israel, I might as well clean off my desk.” Indeed, Carl Cameron of Fox News, himself is no longer willing to address the issue, comment or even acknowledge anything about his own research into the subject…

As to Osama bin Laden’s so-called ‘confession video’, Hani Sebai, a British electronics specialist talking to the BBC, called it ‘a clear fabrication, a classic cut-and-paste job ‘ using an Osama wedding video. In an in-person interview given to the Pakistani paper Umat that was also broadcast on BBC, bin Laden denied any involvement in the 9/11 attacks. There would indeed be little incentive for someone to disavow a deed of this magnitude, for which he would be praised, to which he is supposedly dedicated to carrying through. The official investigation under the control of the neocon Philip Zelikow thwarted any attempt at discovering the truth behind the attacks. Any questioning of the official narrative, be it by victim relatives, architects, engineers, physicists or other patriotic Americans can simply be silenced as crazy ‘conspiracy theory’.

The implication of the Arabs in the 9/11 attacks with the full support of the Zionist-controlled mass media gave the Israelis the perfect opportunity to sear the image of the ‘Arab terrorist’ onto the American psyche.

Former Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, was asked a day later what the attacks in New York and Washington would mean for US-Israeli relations. He said, “It’s very good”. Then he corrected himself, adding: “Well, it’s not good, but it will generate immediate sympathy for Israel from Americans”… (New York Times, 9/12/01)

Whether Israel and its allies here just allowed it to happen or were involved in the planning and execution, their motive was correctly identified by Neil Mackay in the Nov. 2, 2003 issue of the Scottish ‘Sunday Herald’:

Hætti við hælisumsókn þegar vegabréf hans fannst undir rúmdýnu

Tveir útlendinganna fimm sem eru í haldi lögreglu á Suðurnesjum hafa verið ákærðir og mæta fyrir dóm í dag. Mennirnir eru frá Indlandi og Angóla. Þeir framvísuðu báðir fölsuðum vegabréfum í Leifsstöð í síðustu viku þar sem þeir höfðu viðkomu á leið sinni til Kanada. Báðir hafa játað sök og segir Alda Jóhannsdóttir lögfræðingur hjá lögreglunni á Suðurnesjum að þeir muni að öllum líkindum hefja afplánun á 30 daga dómi í dag. Að því loknu er þeim vísað úr landi.

Indverjinn sótti upprunalega um pólitískt hæli hér á landi. Eftir að lögregla fann raunverulegt vegabréf hans undir rúmdýnu í herbergi hans á Fitjum dró hann umsókn sína um hæli til baka og vildi fara úr landi.

Hinir þrír eru frá Pakistan, Erítreu og Súrínam. Pakistaninn sótti strax um pólitískt hæli og er mál hans til meðferðar. Byrjað var að ræða við Erítreumanninn og Súrínamann í dag. Talið er að annar þeirra sé fylgdarmaður hins og segir Alda að í slíkum tilfellum sé kannað hvort um mansal sé að ræða.

Alda segir að óvenjulega margir hafi framvísað fölsuðum vegabréfum, eða vegabréfum sem tilheyra einstaklingum líkum þeim, undanfarið. Fjölgunina segir hún líklegt að megi rekja til þess að nú er flogið til Kanada frá Íslandi, en hlutfall hælisleitenda sem hlýtur um pólitískt hæli þar er töluvert hærra en í flestum öðrum löndum.

Líklegt að hlutabréfamarkaðir falli verulega áfram enda alþjóðlegt bankakerfi fyrir lifandis löngu alveg fallít

Ég á von á að Dow Jones falli fljótt í 10200-10300 og haldi ekki það level kann svo að fara að bréfin hrynji tiltölulega fljótt í þetta 7500 sem er botn frá því fyrir 5-6 árum. Helstu væntanleg gjaldþrot í BNA núna eru Citigroup, GM og AIG.

Um áramótin var ég að blogga um að ísl. markaðurinn gæti hugsanlega botnað í 3000 en ástandið hefur versnað mjög mikið síðan þá og núna er ég að hugsa um 1500-2000 en erfitt er að tímasetja það nákvæmlega. Kannski innan 6-12 mánaða. Annars geta hlutirnir gerst undrahratt á mörkuðum.
